Carl-Johan Bergman (born 14.3.1978)

Carl-Johan comes from Ekshärad in Värmland in Sweden. Liv Kjersti Eikeland attracted him to Norway, and since 2001 the two of them have been living together in Lillehammer. Carl-Johan has shown himself to be very talented, not just as a biathlete, but also as a musician, which we in Fusa found when he played the piano and sang in Ann-Elen and Egil's wedding in Hålandsdal church in the summer of 2002.

Carl-Johan went to a skiing-high school in Torsby. He made his international debut as a biathlete in the junior world championships in Kontiolahti. In the past he has been a Swedish athletics-star having won bronze medal on the 800 m in the Swedish championships as a 16-year-old.

Our Swedish 'fusing' made his mark in the 2002/03-season as a skilled marksman and a regular starter on the Swedish relay-team. He won several first legs in the world cup. So far in the 2003/04-season he has also increased his speed as a skier. He started the season well with an 8th place in the individual event in Osrblie and 14th place on the pursuit in Kontiolahti. His best individual place in the world cup is a 6th place in the individual event in Östersund in 2002/03. His overall world cup standing has improved year by year: He finished 61st in 2001/02 and 40th in 2002/03. Before the Oberhof world championships, he is 33rd so far in 2003/04.
